£ 760 ELDERLY PEOPLE £ 2,030 LEARNING DIFFICULTIES £ 1,440 MENTAL HEALTH AVERAGE WEEKLY FEE BY CARE HOME TYPE FEE LEVELS CARE HOME Unsurprisingly, fees for elderly care homes are significantly lower than their mental health and learning difficulty counterparts. The reason for this is twofold; firstly, elderly care homes are often partially or fully funded by the state. Secondly, elderly care patients do not require the same level of staff acuity as mental health or learning difficulty patients. James Hanson, Head of Healthcare Transactions says ‘as well as a large discrepancy between weekly fees in different types of care homes, the fees vary significantly in elderly care. I have seen fees vary from £400 to £3,000 per week in elderly care homes alone.’ 11 | CUSHMAN & WAKEFIELD
